Tepsija (or na tepsiju – dish of string beans, potato, peppers and tomato) – Eastern Serbia

Ingredients (for 2 persons):

3 onions, 0.5 kg of potato, 300 g of yellow string beans (use any kind you like – fillet or romano beans), 6 capsicum peppers (green and red), 2 larger tomatoes, 3 tablespoons of lard, paprika (mild and hot).

Preparation time 15 minutes, baking for about 60 minutes

Cut onion into wedges, potato into thicker slices, string beans and three of the peppers into larger pieces, tomato into slices. Place onion, potato, string beans and chopped pepper into a baking pan or round clay dish. Add salt, sprinkle with mild and hot paprika and toss well. Top with tomato slices and remaining whole peppers. Add 3 tablespoons of lard and enough water to cover. Put on a lid and bake in a heated oven for about an hour at 200 degrees Celsius.
