The author of the book, Miodrag Ilic, spoke about the significance of such projects for the preservation of the tradition and the intangible cultural heritage. From the very beginning of the book’s preparation, the focus was on research work and the analysis of the books of ethnographer Simo Trojanović and Dr Jovan Erdeljanović, published at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. The first third of the book is the introductory part, which talks about the history of culinary in Serbia, which was written precisely based on the books of the mentioned ethnologists.
Just because of this introductory part, the book can be interesting to everyone. How to Serbian citizens to show everyone that Serbia has authentic cuisine, even though it is often opposed. Tourists, whether they plan to spend a vacation in Serbia, or to visit Serbia for work. Diaspora, that everyone who loses contact with motherland, remind you of some of the forgotten dishes and “feed” your nostalgia, and to pay a great deal of honour to a copy of a book to a dear person to show from which countrie they come from. It is intended for experienced chefs as well as inexperienced beginners who will have the opportunity to test their knowledge, after reading this book, author Miodrag Ilic concluded his address.
The book was published with the support of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.
In the end, all participants could test the specialties, prepared according to the words from the presented book, prepared by the Kristina Gaspar family.
